When it comes to furniture and curtains, fabrics aren’t just about style and comfort, but they can also add an extra layer of protection. Fire retardant fabrics are specially designed to slow down the spread of flames, giving you more time to react in case of fire. They don’t make furniture or drapes completely fireproof, but they do provide valuable peace of mind for homes, offices, and commercial spaces.

For our designer partners who use our sample books, you may notice labels such as NFPA 260 (UFAC) Class 1. This means the fabric has passed a recognized fire safety test showing it won’t easily ignite from small sources, like a cigarette.
Not all fabrics carry this label, but many of our furniture and drapery fabric collections include fire retardant options, giving you both design flexibility and added safety where you need it most. For walk-in customers, our staff will be happy to assist you in identifying which fabrics are fire retardant.
